Benefits of Shea Butter

Butyrospernum parkii is the tree that produces the precious kernels from which shea butter is extracted. In Africa, where it is produced, this butter is renowned for its cosmetic properties to the point that it is called "women's gold".

Rich in vitamins and fatty acids, it is highly appreciated by dry and dull hair as well as curly and coloured hair, giving them back their shine and strength. The hair is :

  • moisturised
  • repaired
  • supple

What is moringa?
Moringa Oleifera is native to India but can be found in many tropical countries. Moringa oil is extracted from the fruit. The powder is obtained from the dried leaves. This plant is a real nutritional bomb (more than 90 nutrients), which has earned it the name "tree of life". Highly prized in Ayurvedic medicine, its use is recognised for :

  • strengthening hair
  • stimulating hair growth
  • slowing down hair loss

Directions for use:

Shampoo as usual, on wet hair, gently massaging the scalp and then rinse thoroughly. This shampoo provides a soft and silky lather, so it is easy to use.

To obtain shiny hair and to prevent the hair scales from remaining open, we advise to use an acidic solution as the last rinse water (this rebalances the PH of your scalp and eliminates traces of limescale).

How do you prepare the acidic rinse solution? It is very simple. Mix a tablespoon of cider vinegar or lemon juice in ½ litre of water, and Voila!

How to transition and clarify your hair

How to make a successful transition to natural hair care?

Giving up industrial products made with silicones and harmful substances can reveal some surprises about the actual state of your hair (silicones act as a "cover-up"). This is why you will need to be very patient when transitioning to a natural hair care routine. The first step is to get rid of any unwanted residue in your hair so that the natural care products can penetrate and nourish your hair.

To achieve this, following these steps:

  • Start with clarifying your hair.
  • Try regularly applying and leaving vegetable oil on your hair. We advise you leave the oils on for around 30 minutes. This routine nourishes your hair. To add moisture, use aloe vera, honey or yoghurt as a mask on your hair before shampooing.
  • Stick with it for several weeks to really see the benefits.

How to clarify your hair : mix 2 parts clay (chose between green clay, which is more absorbent and white clay, which is softer) with half a part cider vinegar and add a little water to make a paste easy to apply. Leave on for 30 minutes then rinse with clear water. We recommend applying and leaving on vegetable oil for around 30 minutes after this step. Then wash your hair with the shampoo bar of your choice. Don't forget to rinse with an acid solution (It is necessary because clarifying your hair opens the scales of your hair. The acid solution will tighten them).
