USE OF EM CERAMICS
Although EM ceramic is not a descaler, it helps prevent limescale build-ups..
The ceramic beads are shaped into small tubes (10.08 mm in size). They are used for water treatment because their shape and structure ensure optimum contact between the purifying clay surface of each bead and the water.
SUGGESTED USES
The following examples and quantities are only an indication. You may need to adjust them slightly or sensibly according to the quality of the water you are using and your personal preferences. Feel free to increase or even double the quantities or decrease them until you are happy with the results.
- 1 net of 500g for 10 000 litres of running water
- 12-15 ceramic beads in a 1L kettle
- 12-15 ceramic beads in a 1L water jug
- 50 ceramic beads in a sealed flannel or net. Make sure that the beads remain in their container so they do not damage the washing machine.
- string 12-15 ceramic beads on sturdy nylon wire and place them on the top tray of the dishwasher
- 12-15 ceramic beads in the fruit basket
- A few ceramic beads in the tank of your toilet, or preferably one mega-bead.
- A few ceramic beads in each flower pot or vase
- 350 ceramic beads in the garden water tank or in a large aquarium
IN WATER JUGS
When using the beads for the first time after sterilising them, first fill the jug half way with tap water and then add the EM ceramic beads. Leave them in for an hour then progressively add more water until the jug is full. Let sit for a few more hours, or overnight. You will taste the difference.
Chlorine is trapped by the action of the ceramic, the molecular action helps separate impurities from the water - tap water quality is greatly improved with this simple gesture.
The grey ceramic beads can be used again and again for up to 10 years.
IN KETTLES, COFFEE MAKERS, POTS AND PANS
Grey ceramic beads can handle the heats because they were fired at 1200°C. Therefore you can use them on the stove and in various appliances where you would like to benefit from their action on water. You can use a special firing Ceramic figure instead of ceramic beads in your appliances.
However, please be careful not to swap the pink ceramic beads for this use. The pink beads are much more fragile. They should not be used in boiling water as they may disintegrate quickly. They were made and fired at 800°C only which makes them much more porous.

IN THE DISHWASHER
Put insulated ceramic beads (in a cloth bag, in a net or stringed on a sturdy thread) in the cutlery basket or on the to tray. They will help reduce the amount of washing-up liquid you need to use by up to half, while maintaining the best results, clean and shiny dishes and cutlery.
IN THE WASHING MACHINE
Ceramic beads can be placed in a sewn flannel, net or bag. They will automatically enhance the washing process.
IN THE BATH
When taking a relaxing bath simply place beads in the water of the bathtub, loose or in a flannel. You could also choose to get an EM ceramic figurine specially for the bath. It is fitted with a suction cup and can easily be placed under water in the bathtub, and it will never be in the way.
IN THE TOILET - FLUSH TANK
By using the EM beads, you will need to use less chemical disinfectants and descaling agents and your toilet will remain clean longer.
IN THE WATER FOR THE GARDEN
Your plants will love being watered, even more. Put a few ceramic beads in the watering can (20-30 beads per 10 litres). Use of EM in gardens with Microferm and EM-A+ and EM-1
IN THE WATER USED TO RINSE FRUITS, VEGETABLES AND SALAD
Put a few ceramic beads in the wash water and leave your produce to soak for 10 minutes.
Ceramic beads are also recommended for longer storage and better freshness.
Even if the vegetables have already been washed, put some ceramic beads in the container or bag then place them in the fridge.
AQUARIUM
Ceramic beads are often sold as an accessory to an aquarium in specific shops. They can be placed in the inner or outer filter, and even in a corner of the aquarium.
They are commonly used water treatment agents, and are also good plant fertilisers. They do not have a disruptive effect in the aquarium water, they just gently improve the quality of the water in that environment.
You will notice the water will remain clear for longer, which means that water changes will be less frequent.
