Why these Toddler wipes?

Reducing our waste has become essential, but so is paying attention to what you put on your skin. This is even more true when it comes to our little ones' skin.

With these needs in mind, we designed Toddler Wipes. They make it possible to avoid disposable wipes, they are made with specially selected materials, limitinon-polluting , from their production to their end of life.

In terms of comfort, natural softness is there! And since the cotton is organic, GOTS certified, there's no fear for the skin.

You can use them for baby's toilet, to apply lotion... They are so pleasant that you will have to make sure that the rest of the family does not steal them for other uses.

Description and characteristics

10 square wipes measuring 16 cm by 16 cm, natural colour.

To adapt to all needs, the wipes have been designed with 2 usable sides:

 -         A cotton and hemp fleece* side (55% hemp, 45% cotton from organic farming),

 -         The other side 100% GOTS cotton flannel.

Made in France in ESAT (establishment and service of help through work: social and solidarity economy).

 * natural fibers, resistant, with anti-fungal and bactericidal properties.

USE

The Toddler wipes can be used on their own, with warm water, or in combination with your usual cleanser, for baby skin.

Remember thatthe wipes are made of 100% natural fabrics, this means you can recycle them. They are even biodegradable.

HOW TO CARE FOR THE WIPES

Wash the wipes at a low temperature (preferably lower than 40°. Please note it is possible to wash them up to 60°, but we do not recommend it, they would likely shrink a little).

If a stain persists, before putting the wipe in the washing machine, handwash the affected area with Marseille soap, or leave it to soak in stain remover, or sodium percarbonate.

When washing the purse that contains the wipes, we also advise to chose a cycle with a low temerature (30° maximum) to avoid  shrinkage.

WHY DID WE SELECT GOTS ORGANIC COTTON?
 

The choice of materials is one of Chamarrel®'s major concerns. 

Why not Tencel or Bamboo?
 

Sustainable wipes are often made of bamboo or Tencel (Eucalyptus fibres). These can be produced at lower cost and are marketed as eco-friendly, however thet can be far from being so in reality. Inded the cultivating of bamboo and eucalyptus, often destroys the biodiversity in the region. Then the natural fibers need to be turned into a soft fabric, through a very heavy manufacturing process involving the use of many solvents and of a lot of water (Turning a rigid fibers into a soft fabric take a lot as you can imagine). It is fair to say, the process is not really eco-friendly.

What about cotton? 

Cotton is natural, it is easy to turn into fabric without the adding any product or solvent.

But is it always grown in an environmentally friendly way? It depends on the production methods.

This is why we choose, in most cases, GOTS organic cotton. This certification guarantees no chemical treatments are used, from the first step in production to the last step with the design. The certification also means that all resources (including water) were used sensibly, according to GOTS standards, and finally that the workers have appropriate working conditions, also up to the GOTS standards. 

Selecting GOTS organic cotton means we strive to take care of your skin. It will not be in contact with any residue of irritating, allergenic or toxic products. And of course we also to take care of our planet! 

Why choose hemp? 

The choice of hemp is a simple and reasoned one. Hemp is also natural, it is produced locally and requires little water and little fertiliser to grow. Moreover, it has bactericidal and antifungal properties. It is an excellent eco-friendly ally for skin care.
